Why you should register for ASDAN
| Hi all you Challengers who may be thinking about doing ASDAN CoPE Level 3. I did ASDAN CoPE Level 3 last year and I’d really recommend it. Why? Doing ASDAN isn’t just about getting 70 UCAS to get into the universities that take it. It’ll also give you practice with lots of skills which are going to be useful later on like: |

- Planning a major project and sticking with it
- Researching a topic in depth
- Doing a presentation - really useful for job interviews
- Setting up and running a meeting
- Problem solving
Here are my top tips for doing the portfolio:
- Evidence, evidence, evidence - collect it all - every little scrap will help you when you put your portfolio together
- Get a rough plan and timetable so you know roughly when you are going to complete each task and be able to move onto the next bit
- Plan ahead allowing time gaps for exams or holidays - it will help you stay in control
- Allow a lot of time to assemble portfolio (it took me a whole week!)
- Be ready to come up with alternatives if you can’t do something for one of the units - I had to change my choice of Skills module three times because of circumstances outside my control
- If you are unsure about any of the work, e-mail World Challenge - the staff are always there to provide guidance
- After all the hard work it gave me a real sense of achievement and it was fantastic to get my certificate.
