Safety and Training Instructor

Toby van Pooss, Safety and Training Instructor Toby has worked in the expedition industry for the past ten years following an 8 year career in the British Army. He has travelled to over 35 different countries around the world involving various activities from diving in Borneo, trekking in Patagonia to high altitude ascents in the Himalaya. He has worked and lived all over the world, including teaching skiing and touring in the Alps and has been involved in the development of many Outdoor Instruction Companies. His passion for youth development and also the training of new expedition leaders led him to take a full time post with World challenge and when he’s not away leading expeditions or helping teams prepare for them, he’s usually at home in North Wales, climbing or cooking dinner for his wife, planning their next big trip.
