Training for the Challenger Run - Week 7

Week 7...

Follow our weekly training programme and get fit for the run and your expedition!

If you have signed up or are planning to take part in one of our Challenger Runs, why not follow our weekly training programme which is full of tips and ideas to get fit not only for the run but for your expedition too? We will also have advice from World Challenge staff who have taken part in various runs, marathons and even ultra jungle marathons!

Training tip from Simon Chaffey, one of our Expedition Planning Managers, who has completed various marathons as well as an ultra marathon…

When running. Don’t think – just run. Focus on one foot in front of the other. Make a conscious effort to start slower than usual. This will mean you’ll probably run at your normal pace given the exciting environment. Don’t get caught up running out of your capacity.

When your place has been confirmed you will be able to download a training programme on the 'my World Challenge' portal. However as everyone has signed up at different times and is taking part in different events, the most important thing is for you to have done some training rather than no training at all. Choose the 5, 10 or 15km, or walk it, this is completely up to you.

Can I still sign up?

Yes! Login to my World Challenge and click on the events section.
