A group on trek

Whether you’re a teacher or group leader seeking an adventurous group trek for some young people, a parent looking for a challenge for your teenager, or whether you’re an independent student looking for an expedition of your own, you will find a selection of World Challenge group treks to inspire you.

Group treks are first and foremost a lot of fun, but they also involve physical and emotional tasks that will challenge young minds. Groups work together to achieve a united goal while forming lifelong friendships.

Benefits of taking a group trek

A group trekking in KyrgyzstanTravel is viewed by employers and universities as a beneficial learning experience. However, taking part in a World Challenge group trek shows something more advanced.

Young people are given the opportunity to demonstrate and develop their leadership skills by taking on the job of Student Leader, or show their reliability by taking on another important role such as looking after the budget, booking transport, purchasing food or updating the expedition journal and taking photos. These tasks provide excellent real life examples for university and job applications, as well as answers to use during interviews.

Knowledge gained in real life makes more of an impact than that learned in the classroom. From wildlife, to the environment, from geography to cultural differences, the range of information that young people will be exposed to during a group trek will be immense. It will challenge their perceptions and make them grow as individuals. When they return they may find that they’ve progressed beyond their expectations.
