Volunteer project work in Ghana
Depending on the length of expedition, teams will spend approximately 6 to 8 days on their project, which will allow them to become truly immersed in the community they are based in. The nature of the projects task will be driven by the local community. The project phase will not only be a fulfilling experience but will offer Challengers a wonderful opportunity to mix with the extremely friendly local people and to learn a lot about Ghanaian culture.

Projects are likely to be community based and involve taking part in construction and renovation projects; or conservation based working with wildlife or endangered species. Teams may, for example, help to build a classroom, or help to paint or rebuild an already existing school. Challengers will also be able to organise sports games, music and lessons with the community they are based in. Project Ghana is an ideal expedition for those teams that want to make a difference; working together with local communities and sharing experiences that will change lives.

Trekking options in Ghana
Time permitting, there are a number of different trek options lasting between 1-2 days that can be added on to the project. Teams could trek through the beautiful Aburi countryside one hour from the capital of Accra or experience the canopy walkway of Kakum National Park near Cape Coast. This will give teams the opportunity to witness Ghana’s nature at its best.

Rest and relaxation in Ghana
Depending on where teams have spent their project phase, rest and relaxation may be spent exploring Ghana’s breezy and balmy coastline enjoying some of the numerous picturesque beaches and visiting one of the turtle hatcheries. An expedition to Ghana is not complete without witnessing Ghanaian life from the stone ramparts of one of the infamous European forts and castles dating back to the 15th century, dotted along the coastline.
