Gap challenge

Travel is the most inspiring and educational experience you can have. The hardest step is deciding which gap challenge to take – everything that follows will be fun all the way.

You don’t need to be part of a group to take on a gap challenge. You don’t even need to have a travel companion. All you need is enthusiasm, a sense of adventure and a passion for travel.

World Challenge brings groups of like minded young people together to participate in gap challenge expeditions lasting from 1 – 3 weeks, with a choice of six exciting destinations.

The trips are perfectly crafted to fit into school or university holidays and are designed for 15 – 26 year olds. The expeditions involve trekking and valuable project work, yet still manage to fit in time for rest and relaxation too.

Why take a gap challenge adventure?

Travel is a mind expanding experience that helps develop life skills and provides valuable experience that will benefit you through your education as well as your career. There is nothing on earth that matches the rush of arriving at a new destination, of facing daily challenges, and creating lasting friendships. If you take on a gap challenge, be prepared for the experience to change your life.

You may think there is plenty of time to take a trip like this later, but you’ll be surprised at how your school, collage and university days will fly by. If you have a free holiday coming up then don’t make excuses. Later on you may find you have genuine reasons stopping you, such as work, study or family commitments.

How difficult is it to organise a gap challenge?

World Challenge is here to take the hassle out of organising your gap challenge. The only difficulty is selecting which adventure to choose.  Accommodation, food and a structured adventure are all in place ready and waiting for you. We even provide some ready made mates for you to travel with. What could be simpler!

How to persuade reluctant parents that taking a gap challenge is a good idea?

Parents are naturally going to be worried if you tell them you are going off around the world. Whilst they may be impressed to hear that your gap challenge will be looked on favourably by education establishments as well as employers, what they really want to know is where you are going to be staying, who with, and how much it will cost. Their most important question will be how are you going to stay safe while you are enjoying your gap challenge expedition?

Show them you are an adult by talking through the reasons you want to go and why you have chosen World Challenge to deliver your gap challenge adventure.
