Romania
Introduction to the Romania expedition

| Romania is a country rich in history and legends, with a great tradition of hospitality. Located in the heart of Eastern Europe, Romania has been a major meeting point of cultures over the centuries. Many have left their distinctive mark with spectacular sights still evident today, from ancient painted Orthodox monasteries and medieval Saxon towns to dramatic hill-top castles. One of the largest eastern European countries, Romania also has some of the most superb and unexplored scenery in Europe, from the Danube Delta on the Black Sea coast, to the striking Carpathian and Transylvanian Mountains. |
