Sample itinerary for the Cambodia expedition

Some possible expedition objectives are given below, please note these may alter between now and your expedition. The Expedition Planning Manager for Cambodia will agree a suitable expedition itinerary for you, to best match the abilities and aspirations of your team.


Acclimatisation
Teams will have the option of spending a few days acclimatising in Phnom Penh or Siem Reap before traveling out to the remote jungle region in Ratanakiri.

Trekking phase
Trekking will take place in Ratanakiri National Park, an extremely remote jungle area which will provide a fantastic physical challenge. Teams will put camping skills to good use, and learn about survival skills in jungle environments.

Project phase
Cambodia is one of the least developed nations in Asia, and World Challenge has many links with charities and NGO's in country. Past teams have helped to improve facilities at an orphanage for children who had lost one or both parents to AIDS. There are many opportunities to work with a range of rural and urban projects.

Rest and relaxation
Aside from exploring the mighty temples of Angkor, teams will have the opportunity to visit impressive landmarks in the capital city, along with historical Khmer Rouge sites. Teams may also opt to travel south to relax on the stunning beaches around Sihanoukville.
