GSA conference
World Challenge exhibit at the GSA conference in Harrogate
On Monday, 16th and Tuesday, 17th November 2010, World Challenge exhibited at the annual Girls’ School Association (GSA) conference which took place at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate. Over 150 Heads attended the two-day conference which this year had the theme “Accentuating the Positive: Confidence without Complacency”. The theme is linked closely to the World Challenge ethos: challenge, participation and environment. Challenge on expedition means that students will face a series of mental and physical challenges, taking them outside their comfort zones and teaching them how to overcome adversity, cope with new environments and become more aware of both their strengths and weaknesses. |
During the conference, World Challenge staff had the opportunity to speak to many GSA Heads - both existing clients who have teams in their schools taking part in the World Challenge programme and Heads interested in setting up an expedition for the girls in their school. Our new conference stand featured a slideshow of some of the expeditions we have run to a variety of destination with our all girl teams. |
Sue Gorham of Nottingham Girls' High School GDST won four expedition tents in our prize draw which can be used in school so students can experience expedition life. We hope that the students and staff will enjoy using them.
